The boss of Airbnb claims that people no longer need to be tethered to the same location to work. Is the era of digital nomads upon us?
I don't want to burden you with my problems, but my laptop comes with me on holiday. If you are involved in a startup or are freelancing, you don't get paid when you travel. My holiday of a lifetime was to Egypt, and one day I had a 6 am start on a day trip to Luxor — so I had to work through the night. Some people felt sorry for me, but hey, I like it that way.
The Airbnb boss has said: "We expect travel to be very different to before the pandemic. People are discovering that they don't have to be tethered to one location to live and work."
Is he right?
